Gas? Barbeque? *Spit*

You don't get anywhere near the same taste & flavour as you do with a proper BBQ.

Diesels are great - save money on the daily hack to spend it on fun cars! smile

What is the budget?

Weber have a "high end" division called Ducane (used to be independent but Weber bought them out). I find their build quality (all stainless, excellent burners, easy to clean, etc, etc) better than standard Webers. Don't know if they are available in the UK though...

ETA, yes they do appear to be available...

If you can find the 4100, it has 4 burners...

I have had my Ducane since 2004. My previous was also a Ducane but wife had me get rid of it because it had a stone-like surround and was hard to keep clean. She is able to keep the stainless one cleaner. (Hey - I cook, she cleans. That's the deal)

I think 5 years is easy. I keep mine covered when not in use. I haven't had to replace a gas line or burner yet...

Sterling are very good and ours has served us well. They are of a high quality and comparable to a Weber. My sister has a Weber and I consider that our Sterling is considerably better as I find the heat more controllable. My wife is from a family of very serious Barbequers and there's a pretty even split between Sterling and Weber.

And to those who say gas barbeque's are cheating obviously don't barbeque enough. Ours gets used at least every week all year round. I had to remove 12 inches of snow from the cover before using it last night.
