Took about 5 months from start (planning) to end, typical NZ speedy ay.. The old one wasnt that old but very unusable , not a lot of counter space a pig to keep clean and didnt suit the fraemos house - which did present a few issues for fitting in the new one...

The photography is impressive, but all that wood cladding does make the kitchen seem a bit dark and dingy.

Very nice - lots of shine and I love the kettle! How quaint though, a telephone with a cable attached to it! Well done though, it looks great.

hehe the wood cladding is the house, thats how its built, so it does soak up light quite well, theres plenty when theres soem daylight and plenty of artificial light when there isnt..

Had to dig out that phone froma cupboard, we use wireless phones normaly...

love the worktop, love the kettle!

Shame the applicances couldn't be integrated, but I assume you're at the mercy of what you can get out there?

Had a quick nose at some pics on your website, have fallen in love with that place 100km from Christchurch cloud9

Rakaia? Its a good spot!

Didnt realy want integrated appliances tho the FF will be replaced with a Smeg one at some point, price and availability are why it hasnt been...

Ah, forward thinking!

Looks lovely.

Rakaia is the place, I assume places there are expensive?

The nice thing about NZ is that it's far enough away to be slightly different from what we have. Taps that come out of the wall, tin roofs, Fisher & Paykel, top loading washing machines etc, no EU...

The worktop seems to have a gorgeous lustre to it - what did you finish it with?

Love the wood. Good luck with that. Knowing I'm a bit tardy in these respects I went for solid wood rather than the block type.
