Thats £111.00 each month.....WTF!

They used to supply energy to a house I owned, I moved out and rented it out around a year ago..

So I vacated the property a year ago. My tenants are payng for their own leccy and gas and whatever else Yet I still had this coming out of my account!

I cancelled every standing order I had. I went online banking for the first time yesterday and was in for a surprise..

What's the chances of me getting my money back? I mean i'm being charged for services not received!!

When you say standing order, do you mean direct debit?

If it's a DD, you can claim the money back from your bank under the DD indemnity if you don't believe you were under a contract with them

You haven't checked your bank statements for a year? Probably largely down to you then.

My bank told me that even if an account holder cancels a DD, the beneficiary can start it again. Scary!

It's your money, not the leccy's. Cancel the DD again, phone them and write them a letter explaining you'd like your money back, and how the small claims court beckons if it is not forthcoming.

You'll get it back under DD, protected, make take some while though.

Yep, true, but that's what the direct debit indemnity scheme is there for. You can claim it back if needs be and you aren't under any contract etc.
