I know this will get moved rather quickly but I would like an answer this side of Christmas.

After years of avoiding using gloss paint, I've now had to do some and I have half a coffee jar of used white spirits to get rid off.

Tip?
Down the drain?

Where does it go?

local dump / "recycling centre" should take care of it for you.

Of course, you could just do as everyone else does and bung it down the drain, you will have to live with the fact you're fking up the environment though.

simply pour over crushed ice and add a twist of lime for a refreshing summer drink,
or add brown sugar, mollasses and winter spice, warm up and enjoy a fantastic hot toddy!

Use to light bonfires with or take the top off outside and leave it - it'll soon disappear.

If you leave it with a top on to save evaporation, the sediment will gradually settle and, will be able to reuse. Or, do what I do and reserve a spot at the end of the garden to tip it on.

I say this. Pour onto some newspaper in the BBQ, and set light. Burns for a good long while.

But that will make CO2 and harm the environment...

Hmm, tough one this.

My old turps (half an inch in an old bean tin) goes down the drain quite happily and has done so for 30 years.

And look at the state of the planet now. So it is your fault. We could have avoided a whole UN conference if only you had come clean earlier hehe

Ahhh, it'll end up in the rivers!

Safer to burn it.
