Never used it but http://www.mybuilder.com/ does the same thing and has a lareg number of tradespeople registered

its a good way of finding single tradesmen who dont necessarily advertise all over the place.plus they may be willing to fo it cheap
as someone else says, it uses a rating system similar to ebay.
I used them for my bathroom. All three plumbers turned up and quoted. Two came some distance to quote so they really wanted the work. One of them told me that as they have to pay to use the service they tend to want to be sure they convert enquiries into work, thus giving the enquirer (you) a good response.
Ultimately, through events I had little control over, I went with someone else but I would have been happy to use the I got through ratedpeople.

I've just had some work done using someone I found from that site, and highly recommend it. As the builder himself said "you can't muck about when using that site because one bad mark against you and you are stuffed"Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
