Just wondering if anyone is awake early and can help. Just woken up to find here is no water from any tap at all in the 4th floor apartment we live in.
Usually I'd check the tanks, but I can't find any in this new place as I think the building shares it's cold water tank. We all have combi boilers for the hot water.

Any ideas what I can check for. Cannot find anyone else awake in the block to check

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. Just been out to the street to check and there is no water from the tap in the park right outside the apartment. Trying to hear if anyone else is awake in the apartments to see if they have the same problem. Main challenge is I've only just moved to Spain and don't speak much of the language.

Thanks for the responses

Are you sure you're not mains fed? Does the combi push out hot, therefore having the cold feed coming in?

You could be right. We have mixer taps and no water at all comes out. Just checked the combi unit and no response. Swithced it off and back on again and no response.
Will try to find out if anyone else has the same issue in the apartments

Sounds like a mains failure.

If it's like a flat we lived in, you might find there's an extra stopcock to your flat in someone elses - ground floor flats in our block (1960's) had the ability to cut almost the whole block off if they wanted.
Anyway, kettle's boiled biggrin

I think most places in the world are mains fed. We Are some of the few who have some love of tanked water.

And thereby have some reserve when the mains fails!

Get used to it, in Spain they regularly reduce the water pressure, or completely cut you off for a day with no notice or explanation.

Your comment about bottled water concerned me, you don't drink the tap water do you? If so you're braver than me, it's supposed to be safe to drink but contains so many heavy metals I wouldn't use it even for ice.

My dad lives in Spain, and every year during the summer when he uses his pool, his hair and nails go green from the heavy metals in the water.

Just got back and all sorted. No we don't drink from the tap, but have a very good filter.... and I also work for a company which distributes water in a number of countries including this one....

All fixed and will continue to keep a lot of bottles of water in the house

Thanks

But - the EU Water Quality Regulations and Directives that have seen UK water bills go through the roof... don't Spain also have to... oh, they don't...right'

nono This is Spain, Health and safety are a personal responsibiilty, not a state one.... digging up the road? just put a couple of crates in front and it'll be ok. Following the EU regulations.... optional at best
