Hi,

Having problems with one of the radiators in my CH. Basically its not heating
up at all. Have bled it and also removed it flushed it out and re-bled it but
nothing. I can feel the heat at the Danfoss valve inlet but no heat in radiator.

Im wondering if there could be a fault with the outlet valve so water cant circulate
and hence no hot water can get in, is this possible ? Any other ideas ?

thanks Jim

If it's a thermostatic valve, it could have stuck closed during the summer - unscrew/unclip the head and give the little rod/pusher a tap - it might free it off and allow flow again.

Actually, did you remove it and flush it out with valves still attached - if so, ignore my last post!

I had this recently - needed to use a pair of pliers to pull the little 'rod' out of its closed position.

If both valves are verified open, it may be an airlock in the system. Try closing all other radiator valves in the house except for the rad in question. Then turn the CH on and turn the stat up so the pump kicks in. The extra pump pressure through the only open circuit may clear it if its an air lock.

If you can feel heat at the inlet vavle then I would say stuck TRV. A little must be getting through though as the inlet vavle would be cold too as water wont travel up the inlet pipe if its got nowhere to go!
