How much for chimney sweep?

First house with a chimney!

How much should I be paying for a chimney sweep to come and clean my chimney. Standard 2 storey house + roof height, victorian building.

I have absolutely no idea what they cost, so thought I'd get some idea before I phone people tomorrow. I'm in the south east, if that makes any difference!

I ended up paying £30 for a real old fashioned style chimney sweep.

The wife swore never again as the mess he made was incredible , but he was a character

Actually my grandfather (London, c.1944) found a novel way to get his chimney swept - a V2 landed at the end of the road and all the soot ended up in the lounge!

Should have said - double flued chimney. IIRC it was £30ish for single flue. Eccentric chap and his son, but did a good job limiting the mess and always tidied up.

£30 a couple of months ago and the fireplace has never been so clean!
