Need something corrosive..

Our bathroom basin pipe is blocked, probably with hair, I shaved my head and washed all the hair down there, stupid I know. I think its causing issues.

What can I pour down there that will melt anything that shouldn't be there?

Caustic soda is the usual drain cleaner, with the kick ass trade only stuff being 98% sulphuric acid

Caustic soda, thick bleach or if it's really stubborn try Thermite.

Have you tried undoing the trap underneath the sink to make sure thats clear?

Our local hardware store sells a sulphuric acid based unblocker that's really effective, but it's evil stuff. I prefer the sodium
hydroxide based products.

Try this first. It'll be really smelly (I did this for a mate at Uni and only just managed not to puke), but most stuff will stop here. After that, something like drainbuster or Mr Muscle sink cleaner should shift it, but you may need a couple of goes. Follow the instructions!

Last time I had to do this I went into Robert Dyas. They had a dilute acid that was purpose-made for the job - specifically mentioned on the pack that it disolves hair, soap scum, fats , etc. Worked a treat.

A regular sink plunger will work wonders, else undo the trap, as already suggested.

I'm not fking around with un-screwing stuff, and plunging, I just want to melt it away. Its quicker and easier. I am lazy and have no tools.

Mind that sulphuric acid, I used it to clear a shower tray drain and when the acrid smoke finally died down the drop pipe into the wee gulley trap below the tray was mostly eaten away. This did allow me to get my fingers into the trap and outlet to pull out a massive wad of hair which, quite conspicuously, had not been disolved by the acid.
