I wish I had shares in the manufacturers because it looks like everyone with a living room over 15 feet square puts one in to sell the house. Is a grand piano the new 'fresh-coffee and flowers' of the housing market?

Do they actually have these in the house normally or are they rented for the pictures?

Quite possibly - I know someone who rents them out!

nuts

Well, it'd get me buying the house but that's cos I play the damned thing. I would ask if the owner could demonstrate the acoustics of the room, of course.

Right said Fred, both of us together, one each end and steady as we go.

Like this?! This one is worth £45K:

This one really needs a caption!

One of those occasions when my Bank of Time would sell them the last 60 seconds again for a good price!

My Mum and Dad have had one for 40 years, they had to have the windows removed to get it in, since then the windows have all be changed, so no idea how it will ever be removed.

The wheels they use is correct for moving a piano, but they should have had the back coming out of the lorry first with a spotter. The way they did this is no surprise it ended in tears. What were they thinking? The tail lift being lowered allowed the back of the piano to ground on the back of the lorry!

I used to remove pianos for a living wink

A rather cheap one then, and IIRC it was a Boesendorfer 290, which is worth rather more than 45k.

Maybe £45K is the value now with, er, 'light scuffing'...
