I'm trying the find some brushed stainless steel sockets & switches for the new kitche, the problem is I'm a fussy bugger.

Basically I don't want that nasty plastic surround around the rocker in the lightswitch, I belive masterplug make them, but the only place I can find that sells them is Focus, & they are out of stock.

Neighbour has just fitted theses brushed chrome ones, and they look/feel very good:

Alternatively here are brushed steel, but not low-profile:

Try Electric Centre (same as 'Parts' and 'Plumb' Centres all the Woseley group) they have a range of sockets in brushed stainless steal, you can pick what colour you would like the switches and all sorts i just changed all mine in my house to stainless (i went for the flat ones as opposed to the ones that stick out the wall maybe 1/2 ")

Screwfix do a full range of Volex stuff. Available in brushed stainless (as well as lots of other finishes). Inserts can be had in either black or white.

I've ordered plenty over the years as it's a reasonably inexpensive way to make a project look that little bit more special.

Wickes sell some utter tatt IME.

BG/British general make a decent range, no inserts on switches etc and grey insulators (hardly visable) on sockets, sold under several other brands eg "sequel" for rexel senate, also avaliable with screwless clip on cover plates.

Indeed and wiring those is a (comparative) pleasure!

Thanks for the heads up on BG, found them here - http://www.allaboutelectrics.co.uk/wiring/wiring-a...

Added bonus is that I saved 40% on TLC, Screwfix & Wickes prices.
