Hi,

I'm after some advice, looking to buy a mains compressor which will be used for airbrushing, spraying and powering air tools. Is it possible to get one that covers all these jobs?

Thanks

Of course it's possible, what sort of airtools determines the cubic feet per minute required, and then how much you want to spend determines the rest.

Unless you have very limited demands, buy the biggest you can afford & power. I bought a small one which looked OK & within a year sold it to a mate & bought a 2.5HP V unit of around 9.5CFM or so. This powers most of my kit although struggles with the shot blaster & needs to be allowed to catch up every 10 minutes or so. Mine is one of the generic Italian jobs from E Bay but machine mart & others sell similar.
One tip either leave it plugged in or run it at least once a month otherwise the start capacitor will die, AMHIK.

Costco do them from approx £250 including air tools (impact gun, tyre gun, blow gun, ratchet etc) all with a 3 year warranty and significantly cheaper than machine mart smile

I'd second that I'd go for a really big one otherwise you will regret it.

I'm incredibly pleased with this compressor....

I have decided that as the pump is good, when the time comes for me to need a larger supply i'll simply add a 200 litre air receiver to get the extra volume.
