advice on making wetroom/stand for shower
Discussion
ive got a new house, removed the bath as it was a bath shower all in one with side screen.
i have pulled the bath out, and want to install a shower on its own and a bath on its own.
the issue i have is, i dont want to move the shower as it has been sunk into the wall neatly, i have plenty of matching tiles so thats no problem. the maximum width between one wall and the start of my window is 675mm, so i can only get 670mm enclosures which are a bit poxy for me as im broad shouldered.
i would like to build a wet stand/tray and tile it and then fit a curved glass screen anywhere i like on the wall without breaching the window, being curved it will open a bit more space for my a_ss but the smallest point would be able to fit where i like.
could i use thick marine ply, water proof it even more, use waterproof adhesive and grout and make my stand?
as the kits in the b&q catalogue are £3-400 bucks plus the screen at £400.
i was hoping to build the stand for £50/60 and then find a screen to suit.
any advice on what i could use to make a stand/ raised wet section for shower enclosure. or is what i've listed appropriate.

Wet room floors need to be built carefully so that they don't leak.
I don't really understand what you're trying to do but it sounds like you're trying to patch a wet room into corner of an existing bathroom. I'd say you run a very really risk of water damage as it leaks out around the 'developer' quality original finishes.
To avoid this you'll need to lift the entire floor and the bottom courses of tiles and fit a proper floor and drain.
Several ways of doing this. You can get a copper tray made up that you then tile / finish over. In the US there are lots of composite systems you build up in situ to form the tray - not sure if you can get them in the UK.
Having read it again it sounds like you're trying to make you're own shower tray? Certainly doable but - in my mind - paying £400 for a cast curved tray that just needs to be set on level ground is worth it. It'll be done in an hour or two.

yes i am trying to make a shower tray/wet room to fit my awkward corner.
the whole bathroom floor will be over boarded and tiled and i wanted to make an upstand and tile that to and just buy a walk in shower screen (for wet rooms) which i could fix where i liked then.
ive done a quick spazzy drawing to explain what i want to do roughly.
i thought if i layered say 2 pieces of 15mm-20mm marine play on top of each other then raised these off the floor with a wodden frame made from 2x3's( to stop flex in the ply, that would raise it up enough to attach a waste pipe/plug etc. i would then coat the marine ply in waterproof adhesive and use water proof grout. I just dont know if this would be water proof enough?
it will be designed so that the water will run towared the plug etc. and water is only going to be on the home made tiled shower tray, the odd drips on the rest of the floor.

Guessing it's first floor... Why not put some tanking in first? http://www.diywetroom.com/technical.htm

Without being able to see the pictures, are you looking for something like this:the whole bathroom floor will be over boarded and tiled and i wanted to make an upstand and tile that to and just buy a walk in shower screen (for wet rooms) which i could fix where i liked then.
