cooling a room?
Discussion
im sure quite a few people are getting annoyed with the nights spent rolling around too hot in bed so im asking if anyone has any tips on keeping a room cool.
at the moment i've got a 40" TV, an xbox 360 and my pc running, all in quite a small room.
turning any of these off is NOT an option obviously
i have one window and it's wide open as i've given up on keeping the bugs out. my door is open and so is another window in the next room and im boiling.
any advice on keeping my room a bit cooler?
i hate the noise of fans and can't afford an a/c thing. are there even any gadgets that can help me out?

any mods with any opinion on which subforum this should be in (computers, gadgets & stuff, health matters, home cinema & hi-fi, homes, gardens & DIY. etc.) feel free to move this :shrugs:

With his TV, xbox and PC all in his bedroom the OP must still be living in the parental home. The solution is to cut the apron strings, get married and you won't have any of the three items in the bedroom.B16JUS said:

Thermal chimney. Could be as simple as vents in the attic and leaving the trapdoor/hatch open.
Attic vents sounds interesting - mine gets unbelievably hot on a sunny day and I do wonder about the harm it's doing to the things I keep up there. What is recommended, and are they a DIY fit?FlossyThePig said:

What is recommended, and are they a DIY fit?I believe they are as simple to install as removing a tile and replacing it with this and then cutting through the felt stuff and insulation on the inside of the roof.
