We Bought a house recently, When we moved, we just used the emersion heater as we wanted to get the boiler serviced before using, Central heating we didnt need.

We have been told that our boiler isnt working and the fitting used for the gas connection are actually water valves

How do we stand with regards the old occupiers, Surely they knew this but didnt declare it?

Does the building actually have a mains gas supply?

Your surveyor needs pulling through with a ragman's trumpet.

How recent is recent?

Under Scottish Law, you have five or seven days to go back with issues as you describe. Not so certain about English though...

If still within a couple of weeks, I would speak to a solicitor...

No go with the Buyers unless you specifically asked them (and can prove it) prior to purchase about the Boiler working. Surveyor - depends on the survey that you paid for. Just a valuation probably no chance.

I am guessing that you would have had to have had the Boiler checked by a CORGI (or whatever it is now) Plumber anyway not a Property Surveyor.
