Washing machine problem

HI,
we have a Hotpoint WT960G that has developed a scraping noise and is putting little black dots on our clothes. Is there anyonr on here who can advise whether this is known problem and if so is it easy to fix.

Failing bearing I'd guess. Usually not worth the effort fixing.

I would guess the "spots" are oil from somewhere..

If the machine is more than five or six years old a "repair" might not be economical.

Whitegoods highly recommended, if the OP is in the Bristol region I know a top repair guy, and it the OP needs to buy a replacement, talk first to those who repair washing machines on what to buy.
