Looking to light up the garden and trees with approx 20-30 spots dotted around the place (no neighbours to annoy, so assume no planning regs infringed and no airport nearby), but it will need about 300 to 400m of cable. I don't seem to be able find out specs regarding armoured cable and what is recommended - any pointers please?

Circuits will require 30mA RCD trips.

SWA cable buried at least a foot below the ground (3-core is best).

Waterproof connections & junctions.

Cable CSA will depend upon the load on each circuit & the length of run.

Good luck smile

Tks Smiler, going to do some more research (the digging will be the biggest PITA), but 4.0mm 32A 3 core armoured cable wouldn't be overkill no?

4mm² might be a bit difficult to terminate - depends upon your fittings.

Have you already got them? Post some links of what you have in mind.
