Restoring sash windows?
Discussion
My parents live in a Victorian house with sash windows. A couple of the lower windows look like they are starting to rot. I've been told that sometimes restoring can work out cheaper than replacing (particularly given the size of their windows)?? Can anyone recommend a good sash window restorer near West London?
I've used http://www.londonsash.com and was pleased with their services. I know a few people who have used Sash Smart and rated them.
We used http://www.ventrolla.co.uk/ to do 10 windows, some of which were in a dreadful state, and they did an excellent job. The windows now not only work, they are draught free and they also have a mechanism where we can take them out for cleaning and painting.
