Modern conservatory
Discussion
I'm hoping someone on here will know of a manufacturer of comtemporary-type glass rooms/conservatories.
House it's being nailed to is 1970's, so a upvc mock victorian thing would look A Bit Wrong.
Something along the lines of this is what we have planning for - I'd originally thought up a plan involving a steel I beam frame (designed and calc'd by a structural engineer), a standard conservatory ally-framed glass roof, 6.6m wide silicone-jointed full width shop-front type glazing, and a 2 panel patio door.
But countrywide mention ze germans in their sales stuff - so they obviously just import the extrusions and jointing bits and pieces - anyone know of other good-value UK suppliers of this kind of thing?
TIA

I contacted Countrywide and they're sending a salesman, sorry, design consultant, out.
Quite possibly for several hours, while he phones his boss twice and reduces the price by 75%
I'd like to find a similar modular system I can compare like with like with.
I'll give sunfold a go tomorrow - thanks for that.
We've already had an Apropos quote (top end gear) - and it had a 4 in
We were expecting a quote with a 2 hence my tightwad DIY idea with girders and bits of spare conservatory.

My DIY idea might be the best option then.
Steelwork welded up and ready to paint - £2.5k
Struc engineers fees - £400
Kit roof with glass - £3k
Shop front fitted - £4k
Patio doors - £1.5k
Misc - £1k
Bleeding fingers, swollen thumb, weeks of pain, agony and chiropractors bills - priceless
