Chancel Repair Liability Indemnity

I bought my house last year, and without wanting to sound too much of a cretin, was sorting some of my paperwork last week and realised that I never took out the chancel repair liability indemnity. This was an oversight (my solicitor was useless and wrote to me a month after purchase saying that they'd forgotten to ask me about it at the time) rather than a decision not to pay.

Have tried to get back in touch with the (useless) solicitor, but 6 days later they're refusing to respond to phone messages and e-mails.

Is there any other way of getting this indemnity arranged? The solicitor initially quoted £22.26 for cover - obviously a pittance that could potentially save me a bit more! Are there third parties I could approach directly, or does this need arranging via my (reluctant to help) solicitor?
