Not edible.

Anybody know how I get rid of them, without killing the grass.

We have a ring of grass that is strugling to survive where the mushrooms come up.

I have tried the normal weed and feed type products, with no luck.

I get the odd shroom in the lawn.

I just mow it closely and regularly. Keep that up and eventually they got better.

My old employers had a product called Ringmaster (a fungicide) but it was a professional product, ie not sold to the public. There is (or was) something called Armillatox which is a phenolic, but you'd still have to dig the ring out and it would probably knacker your grass too.

I think the pragmatic answer is to live with it. Each year the ring will grow wider and eventually fizzle out. As the fungal mycelia die and break down behind the ring, releasing nitrogen, you typically get a greener ring of grass.

Best advice is buy a book Called 'The Lawn Expert' by Dr Hessayon, there are three different types of fairy ring, two you can almost live with, and ones a real bd to get rid of.

If you have two dark green rings with some dead/moss in between you have the bd.

If you have a mushroom ring like the one in the picture.. sit back and enjoy... unless you have small children that is.
