Air Con blowing fuse
Discussion
We've got an air con unit in the conservatory which blows the fuse as soon as it is powered on ...
It's a KFR-51GW which is a rebranded Toshiba 1800BTU split system.
I've had a look on the net, but I can't see a troubleshooting manual for it.
Before I call the engineer (who I imagine at this time of year are pretty busy!)
Any pointers?

It would suggest the unit has been wired up incorrectly - probably on the interconnecting wire between the outdoor and indoor unit.
The only item in the system that could blow a fuse on its own is the compressor (ie if it has siezed), otherwise it sounds like a mistake.
Check ALL wiring.

Ah, not good.
Can't see how it can be anything else except a siezed compressor or faulty capacitor.
Take the top off the outdoor unit and see if there is any apparent fault with the capacitor ie burnt wiring, distortion. (Capacitor looks like a small tin can).
My guess would be compressor, if so the most likely cause would be faulty installation.
