How to go about buying an old barn.

Everyday on my day to work I see what would be a fabulous barn conversion, afaik it is not currently used for storage so there is no reason for it being there other than to torment me!

How would one go about converting it? Obviously I'd have to find the owner/buy the land/get planning permission/convert it.

Is it as 'simple' as that? Would I simply rock up to the farmer and ask if he would sell it?

When I have more than 2p to my name it will be mine!

I have done lots of Barn conversions, they are very expensive things to do well, you need some deep pockets before you even think of one
