Good price for turf?
Discussion
Hi All
Another question - what is a reasonable price for a 1m2 piece of turf? Normal garden lawn, nothng fancy. Will need delivery as well.
I was going to see the garden but I quite fancy a quick fix of turf and it might be cheaper than I thought.
Also, does anyone know of any decent types of FAKE turf that is reasonably priced? is it usually much more expensive?

If you can wait 4 week then seeding is a better long term investment and a hell of a lot cheaper.
Although on TV they show laying turf like rolling out carpet that is a gross underestimation. You need topsoil ready under the turf otherwise your turf won't last the summer. In 4 weeks time a sown lawn will look exactly the same and will last a lot longer.
Out of the turf I laid a couple of years ago the only grasses left in it are what migrated from the rest of the lawn and what I had to oversow to fill in the holes. Go figure.
