Extending lease help needed

Hi Guys,

Posting on behalf of my girlfriend:

"If I hired a solicitor to serve notice to my landlord in order to extend my lease (plus any other legal work required in the process), would it matter if they weren't based in the same location as my property?
If it DOES matter, could anyone recommend a good Legal firm in the E4 area? If not, any other recommendations anywhere?"

Does not matter, although it helps if they are in the same country so familular with the law!
