Have been ordering all the stuff to re-do our ensuite via the internet (WC, shower, shower tray, shower door, sink stand & sink) and just have the taps to get. Just noticed that comment on this thread about B&Q taps being rubbish - does anyone have any recommendations for sites? I need an extended monobloc as we have gone for one of those oval basin things that sit on top of a unit.

Budget is up to about £150 and wouldn't mind something that looks as nice as the HansGrohe shower we have ordered biggrin

just make sure you have enough pressure head on the hot or cold otherwise it will dribble or only run one temperature.

Is your house gravity fed or pressurised? It makes a BIG difference to the taps you can choose!

Gravity fed. Have I done a bad thing buying that tap? Says 0.5bar min

If it needs 0.5Bar it won't be fabulous in an upstairs room on gravity feeds.

More importantly...
I hope the worktop you have the basin on isn't natural wood. Granite, marble or laminate preferably because you'll continually have water on the worktop with one of those basins.

Is that dense enough not to soak up water?

I've seen so many worktops that have been sealed/waxed/oiled etc that can't cope with water sitting on them..and those basins are a nightmare. The water runs down the outside at the slightest splash and the blind side is the worst, obviously...

The common walnut and the black walnut and its allies, are important for their attractive timber, which is hard, dense, tight-grained and polishes to a very smooth finish
Looks like it might be OK!
