which garden vac should I buy?
Discussion
Hello
I am in need of a garden vac to keep the twiggs and leaves off the decking, it will need to be quite good as I have a fecking great big oak tree over hanging the deck which cause lots of crap to clear up. I don't want to spend loads but don't want to but crap either so recommendations please.
So for I have seen these;

Tools/Blowers-Vacs/2600W-Black-Decker-Electric-Blower-Vacuum
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2410.aspx
or has any one got something better??

All well and good and exactly what I have been using but with 80sqm of deck, good knows how many grooves, gaps, corners and it also being sunken so lots of edges for crap to blow against it's fecking hard work! and tbh I have better thing to do with my time. So back to the question in hand I need a lazy B'tard way of keping it clean. Less time cleaning = more time BBQing and drinking beer!
Petrol all the way.....this one looks interesting:

157mph air speed with both suck and blow functions....

Get one that chops up the stuff before it enters the bag, otherwise you will be emptying it every 2 minutes.
I got a flymo one that doesn't chop, and I've used it once in about 5 years. Honestly, a yard brush is much more effective.
The one I quote above does just at a ratio of 10:1.....plus it blows at 157mph!!! I got a flymo one that doesn't chop, and I've used it once in about 5 years. Honestly, a yard brush is much more effective.
I have a Flymo one similar to your link (about 8 years, just starting to struggle). Shreds (very good for composting leaves). Blower and "wet lift" work well. It would struggle with the twigs (unless mixed in with leaves), and can suck up dry dust OK. Works well on lawns. Bit of a struggle in tight corners.
Only marginally quicker than a broom, the real benefit I see is with the output - doesn't blow around again, and composts rapidly. I reckon it would be pretty handy on decking.
If you're happy with leccy, you could worse for £40.

Cheers, I will get one I think 10% day at Homebase this weekend, for £40.00 prob can't go to far wrong.Only marginally quicker than a broom, the real benefit I see is with the output - doesn't blow around again, and composts rapidly. I reckon it would be pretty handy on decking.

Any reviews / recommendations on these now we're into Autumn? Most reviews I've read online seem to say these things are better at blowing than sucking, but I'd quite like a good sucker for around £40-70...
If she sweeps up the leaves first I'd say that you are getting a bargain. Cheers - was wondering how long my Finbarr Saunders-esque set-ups would be ignored...!
In case anyone's interested, I decided to spend £45 on a pretty basic Flymo 2700w garden vac - suspect very similar to what was recommended to the OP. It seems to work pretty effectively on dry oak leaves - got my (admittedly very small) garden a lot tidier in about 5 mins. Time will tell how it works with wet leaves, or how sturdy it is, but I'm happy after one use!

The one from Tesco the OP listed does the trick just fine.
Turbo function for blowing wet leaves off paving, round up all the crap then switch to suck and it shreds the stuff internally (little plastic wire that spins at the top of the collection bag).
Works well on driveways and decking, but limited on wet grass and the like.
