Anybody got any useful tips on grouting mosiac tiles especially the stone type with lots of indents and holes. The problem being keeping the grout out of these holes so the effects are not covered up.
Thanks in advance.

It cant be done, I take it you mean travrtine stone? The holes being filled with grout is part of the overall effect, also acts as a seal to keep moisture and dirt out.

I'd agree with above..think you'll find it hard to avoid. Rather depends on the size of the mosaic. If its large enough you could mask them. Incidentally if they are stone then they will need a specific sealant to waterproof them, don't rely on the grout.

My first thought is to put the grout into a cake-icing bag/nozzle thing and squeeze it straight into the joins. Or maybe you could use white silicone sealant instead?

Fill the holes up with something first - Silicone, wax, sand ? Then grout.

Got it.

Cheese.

Fill the small holes with cheese. Grout. Then release a mouse who will eat the cheese.

Would agree that this is pretty much impossible unless you plan on cutting little squares of masking tape and sticking them on.

Seal before grouting (Lithofin do a good product for this).

Grout with a waterproof grout, apply with a grout float.

Clean off as much excess as possible with a damp cloth, allow to dry and then rub up with one of these.

My mum works for a tile company, she recomends using this instead of standard sealer, as it will both seal and bring out the colours in the trav.

From personal experiance FILA products are both overpriced and not very good!!

Like was said above Lithofin are very good also HG sealers: http://www.hagesan.co.uk/epages/61534384.sf
