Not sure if this should be in Finance or Homes?

Do we have any mortgage brokers on this site? I need to do some 'affordability' calculations (I know what I can afford, but what I want to know is what I can be lent)!

Bit fed up of using website calculators which seem to spit out some pretty random responses.
