Writing a tenancy reference as an employer?

Someone here at work is due to move into a new property and needs a reference from me to give to the new landlord.

I've never written one before nor have I ever needed one so I have no idea on what I need to state. Can anyone lend a hand? Better still does anyone have an example of an existing one (written in a positive light ) that I can just regurgitate?

Person has worked here for X months years etc. On a permanent / temporary contract as a whatever.

Based on my knowledge of person as an employee i am happy to recommend them as tenant.

I would leave out the second sentence. Just state how long they have been employed and on what basis (temp/perm etc).
