We're in the market for a fancy (for us) new oven 900mm wide. Baumatic's seem to be available at some keen prices with all of the features we want, but I have no idea if they are any good! If anyone has experience of owning one please can you let me know if they're up to muster.

Thanks

N.

cheap stuff really, the thermostat broke in mine and I electrocuted myself changing the oven ready lamp as well.

For me, Baumatic hold memories of being thrown across the room by 240v and burnt food.......

You get what you pay for, but my (fairly extensive) experience of their aftersales service is very good.

I've got a Baumatic cooker - gas hob with a single 900mm fan oven. I find it takes ages to get up to temperature. Thankfully I also have a separate 600mm double oven which I use most of the time.

Ours has a noisy fan, and nice metal knobs which get so hot that it is impossible to turn off the damn thing. On the plus side, the glue has now melted so they drop off at random allowing them to cool down. Buy a Smeg.

Too many smegs are contract quality. ie ste

We have a baumatic double oven and it is OKish. We bought it as part of a tart up the kitchen pre-sale thing. But for various reasons we didnt move and I've been living with it for the last 5 years.

For the price (assuming that you do your homework and pay very little) they are pretty good. If price not an issue, buy a miele.

Had one a few years ago. Went on fire at about 18 months, so we threw it out and bought AEG.

Had one of the cheaper ones in my old flat and it was decidedly average.

As others have mentioned they don't get up to temperature that quickly, and the self cleaning stuff on mine was anything but!

I guess you get what you pay for...

Do Miele / AEG do a 90cm freestanding twin oven cooker with induction hob?

No. I'm telling you, these Baumatics are far worse than that. You catch flu, its not your fault. This thing actually went looking for trouble. In its favour - not too heavy, so easy to throw in a skip. hehe
