Our cat seems to love finding ticks and getting them to attach to him! We probably remove 3 or 4 a week. Stopping him going out isn't an option and we can't stop him roaming through the local fields, into local stables or any otherof his haunts. Do the PH cat people think its best to remove the little buggers or leave them til they naturally drop off? We always remove them cleanly and are careful not to leave any 'bits' in the wound. I have seen some sort of tick removal thing, does anyone have any experience of them? Thanks

Remove them, pronto. You don't want them inside the home, crawling up your legs!

Try 'Frontline' as a deterrent?

our dog gets the frontline treatment every month too ... (they also do these "flea wipes" that you can do a once over of the paws / lower legs / belly as an added deterrant to the flea.

Tick removing tool and Frontline as suggested above. Regular (daily) checks of the cat, too.

Ours has an anti flea/tick bath once a year (he hates it) and its the only thing so far that has stopped him collecting fleas and ticks. I'll have a search for the stuff.

Thanks for everyones replys. We Frontline our cat once a month and although it does seem to lessen the number he gets it does stop them. That tool looks more awkward than a pair of tweezers! A flea/tick dip bath sounds good although I think I might let mrxl do it! hehe
