Suggestions from the more green fingered amongst us please

Morning all,
I'm after a bit of advice on plants.
We have just finished a big deck at the top of our garden and need some advice for suitable plants to give it a bit of colour.
The deck is in the sun pretty much all day and is quite shielded from the wind.
What I am after are a few plants that are pretty cheap, readily available, fairly low maintenance, that are happy to sit in pots and that will return year after year!
Many thanks in advance for suggestions

There are lots of 'patio' suitable plants (in pots) around nowadays. Roses are a good example of the increase in availability. Have a look round a (decent) garden centre & ask advice from there if you're not sure
Most if not all plants that are specifically bred to be grown in containers will not need too much looking after...all you will need to make sure of though is regular watering (and lots of it!) with additional plant 'food' (gettable in a bottle ) every so often.
Don't be tempted by Clematis or (to a lesser extent) Honeysuckle as these will need their roots in the shade (not in a pot baking in the sun)...Passionflower as stated above are a goodun. But as a general rule of thumb...the bigger & faster growing the plant...the more water & food it'll need to thrive!
Full sun can be your enemy when pots are concerned
