Got some garden waste to get shot of & rather than multiple trips to the local tip I was thinking of getting in one of these 'Hippo Bags' where you fill it up & they take away.

Anybody used them & are they reliable?

We have a tie-in with a local skip company that do this service, works well, as long as people put the bags where the crane can get to them!

Haven't used Hippo per-se, so can't comment on them directly.

I've used them once - they were fine, but yes make sure the crane can get to the sack before you start filling it up!

Yep - used them a fair bit & they are very good. Do be careful that you don't overfill them if you are filling with heavy soil or rubble.

Yeah, used them 4 times. Never had any trouble, despite not being very careful when loading soil/rubble.

have used them. they are reliable, but make sure you know your local tip. at one local to me you have to empty rubble into the skip, and to do so have to climb a set of steps. can't imagine that would be fun with all that weight.

Thanks chaps. Just bought one & will fill tonight.

Sure beats messing up the inside of the car with trips to the tip.

Make sure you get a decent amount in it as soon as you lay it out. A friend of mine dawdled and it was stolen off his drivefurious

really? how much then for a typical bag/collection?

i have hippo type bags, not actual branded ones. these were free from the council to get people to recycle green waste.

Hippo bags are the size that hardcore etc gets delivered in. You'd need a hoist to lift a full one.
