Hi All,

Apologies for creating what is probably the most boring post ever however I need to get some opinions.

Our house was built in 2001 and over the last couple of months a number of the double glazed windows have misted up. I am assuming that the seals on the windows have perished. This has happened to a number of windows, not just one.

As the house is under 10 years old, do you know whether I can claim this under the NHBC (or what ever the
name is)?

Any help would be apprecaited.

NHBC is for sttructural stuff.

Check the paperwork for any kind of guarantee that came from the window supplier (and then hope they're still in business).

But tell me about it - the central heating in my 3 year old new build has packed up...

I think FENSA are the people you need.

We claimed for a new window last year when one failed. The company that fitted them had vanished.

DGUs break down. Sometimes after 20+ years, sometimes in under a year.

Check with the suppliers, it may be covered by your guarantee, if not replacements shouldnt cost the earth.
