Spot the deliberate mishtake:

FFS. And no, this has not been photoshopped, this is how it came from their store on Saturday. Unsurprisingly, they don't fit my 3/4" taps...

Mate - they're spot on I think - 3/4 inch is for bath taps - they suit the valve that you'll find inside.

Am I missing something?

If they don't fit just cut them down to size.

I bet they fit fine....
How bloody organised are you? I'd have the bathroom in bits then find they don't fit at 17:01 on Sunday with the Mrs screaming at me.

although they look too big the fact that the actual washers have 3/4" written on them suggests they might just work. scratchchin

It's deliberate, they shrink in the wash.

The hole is 3/4", so the washer has to be bigger to cover it??

I suspect that '3/4"' refers to the tap fitting (as opposed to 1/2"), not the diameter of the washers.

Sorry s it just me or is the fact that they come in a pack of three a bit odd??

The last time I bought some, they also sold Radiator keys in packs of three.

Who the fk can use more than one at a time.

They're washers for 3/4" taps (i.e. bath taps).

Normal basin/sink taps should have 1/2" washers.

They are not measured for 'washer size', they're measured in this instance for the size of tap they fit.

It's ambiguous, but not wrong.

Very misleading of the OP to include the ruler in the picture, but i think this is it too.

ETA - Also the bold bit in the op. wink

99% of the time a dripping tap has nothing to do with the washer which, because is it rubber, is as good as the day it was installed.

Dismantle the tap and take the old washer with you. Are you sure you need flat washers and not domed ones?

We have a winner!

Despite these feckers being stamped as 3/4" and 'kwality assured' they are in fact 1" in diameter. I am guessing there is a factory somewhere in China with a lot of useless washers in the warehouse...

I don't think this is correct = will see what they come back with from yesterday's email.

The leaky tap is on my bathroom sink, the washer inside measures 3/4" in diameter (a tap is a tap is a tap - they don't mind what they're attached-to wink ). Even if the 3/4" described the tap rather than the washer size, these 1" diameter washers ain't fitting!

Interestingly, the automated reply email I got was from Argos - I didn't realise they were in bed together/part of the same group.
