What are the £99 or less recommendations for a desk style fan (NO pedestals please).

Can locate on the floor or on top of an IKEA Kallax unit.

I have one of these Bush 6 inchers & for its size it is remarkably good at shifting air . . .

The Gold Standard appears to be the Meaco 1056 . . .

I can happily recommend the Meaco fans. I have two of them.

I have the shark misting one, really like it.

Stylish and functional. Currently 15% off on their website too.

Intrigued to know how much water this kicks out/ how fine the fine is the mist.

Just purchased its outdoor bigger brother… but you need wipers on the glasses if anywhere closer than 8ft!

Great well made product it seems tho.

I meant to say internal use only, don't want it misting over my oled tv, pc, or monitor

The small desktop one is perfectly usable indoor. The mist is so fine it stays airborne and is like spraying from a spray bottle. You can even set it so it pulses and isn’t just one. As above the bigger pedestal one is very different and will soak you carpet but desktop definitely suitable for indoor.

Meaco 1056 duly bought yesterday, certainly made sleeping easier last night.

Very happy but it's no portable AC now is it . . .

Now 30C in my main living space biggrin

This thread made me decide it was time to replace the fan we've been using in the bedroom - a fairly ancient tower thing that seems to work OK, but is very noisy - and the LCD has stopped displaying anything.

Decided to go for the Meaco Sefte pedestal fan - simpler than trying to find something to place a fan on - and it arrived today.

Just tried it, and very impressed. At lower fan speeds it is pretty much silent - and still moves more than enough air. A little noisy at max fan speed - but for the size of our bedroom, it's blowing a force 10 gale at max speed so that's not really going to be a problem.

I think it's going to make the next few nights sleeping a bit more pleasant - and a lot quieter!

Thought I’d get a secondary Meaco, the Sefte 10 Pro, the desk version of yours to go with my 1056.

I signed up for John Lewis stock alerts via email, but deduced it was quicker to have “Meaco Fan” JL website search results up on the screen, & periodically F5 refresh the results until it showed as back in stock online - took a while though as stock flies off the shelves. The 8 & 6 inch Meaco fans are more likely to be in stock for obvious reasons.

I actually got told off for buying mine. It turns out, fans that look like fans (vs the tower fan I was replacing) are not aesthetically pleasing
