He told me he was an ant!! The cheeky git!!You think that's problem, we had the pouring out of a plug socket in the kitchen, kept spraying the socket which didn't seem to stop them, then took the socket off and sprayed down the holes where the cables came in. took a few days to finally cure it.
Then the switches wouldn't work on the socket, took it apart and it was rammed full so the switch couldn't move, can't understand why they didn't electrocute themselves.

.I think ants are fascinating. We had some in the kitchen last year; somehow they had figured out I'd put some jars of home made jam on top of a kitchen cabinet and one of the jars had leaked and was sitting in a pool of fruity goo.
The ants had 'got wind' of it and there was a constant stream across the floor and up the cabinet to the jar. I just moved the jar away, cleaned the top of the cabinet and within a couple of days the word got back to ant base - no more ants.
They live, as far as I know, under the paving slabs outside our front door, we don't normally see them.

Hopefully they don’t leave a white powdery mess like the normal ant powder you can get?
I have sprayed WD40 into nests. Worked perfectly. However, not best in some areas.
One was in a wall with poor mortar. Nest inside the gaps. It was a remote wall at the end of the garden. Done a few years ago and no further problem.
Last one was down the edge of a patio. Porcelain tiles. Same effect as before. No staining of the patio. I tested it on a couple of offcuts I had.
We do get an occasional ant but no nests anywhere so far.
You could use WD40 on pavers if you use the tube to spray carefully into the joints, avoiding surface overspray as much as possible.
We had the front drive redone 2 years ago and fine grit used instead of sand to bed it. No ants at all....so far!
