Landscaper has laid paving with no fall away from house
Discussion
Hello all. I have recently had a landscaper come and install a 70m2 patio in porcelain paving slabs. The bulk of the patio is at the rear or the house and I believe that he has done a great job. It all looks level and slopes gently away from the house. However, where we seem to have a problem is with the slabs that were laid at the side entrance of the house. He allowed one of his other workmen to lay these slabs and this area was laid very quickly in failing light conditions. Now we have had some rain and it is quite clear that there is no fall on these slabs. The water is pooling all the way down the entrance area and I have to keep sweeping it off. We have checked with a spirit level and it shows dead level. The whole area is yet to be grouted due to rainy weather. How do I tackle this with the landscaper without any drama? I still owe him some money which is payable at the end of the project.
Thanks for your response. I know that you are probably right and I should give him the opportunity to put it right. I have lost some confidence in him because he's allowed one of his men to lay the slabs incorrectly and then didn't check the levels himself afterwards. Or perhaps he did and just hoped we wouldn't notice or complain. I guess I'll bite the bullet and contact him about it. Do you know how easy it is to lift the slabs and relay them? They were laid on a cement/sand base and a slurry applied to the bottom of each slab.

It's not your problem if it's easy or not. In life these things happen. If he's a decent trade he'll be happy to fix it.
A word to the wise by the way. If the tiles are porcelain be ever so careful when the frosts come....they tend to be extra slippy.
