Uncovered this in the garden - what is it?
Discussion
I've been digging out a pond feature in the garden, and under a pond liner and a ton of shingle, I've found this. Anyone got a clue what it might be?
My house used to be a corn barn, so my first thought is some sort of grinding or winnowing area, but can't find anything similar online. It appears to have had 5 scalloped sections at the back and a flat surface at the front.
Suggestions gratefully received!

Homemade water feature.
+1. Lillies and rushes and stuff round the edges then a big tub for the fishies.
You're probably right, although we are only the second owners and the feature that I'm ripping out is what we inherited from the first. The whole space was flat, covered in pond liner and pebbles with a shallow pond in the middle.
On reflection, I'll admit it's a leap to assume it's anything more interesting...
