Hi all

Have a swivel mount to fit a 46” plasma tv to fit and wondered what fittings I need wall side for this?

Rawlplugs and screws not strong enough?

I believe it’s a brick wall if that helps.

Many thanks.

Brick would be unusual for an internal wall and it could be block which might not make much difference although some blocks are as hard as concrete (literally) and other blocks crumble to dust when only looked at.

One thing to watch out for is if your brick or block wall is faced off with plasterboard and with a possible air gap because then the fixing needs to be long enough to reach the brick and tightening up can crush and collapse the plaster board.

It would help to know the type of wall.

However, if it is brick or blockwork with plasterboard then Corefix are the answer.

Blockwork walls often have plasterboard attached using Dot'n'Dab. Basically a breeze block wall with blobs of adhesive holding plasterboard on. That leaves a gap of 10-20mm from plasterboard to block which will mean a normal screw and rawl plug won't do the job.

Corefix sorts that out. I put a tv bracket up and 4 fixings supported my 75kg. It's nice to know you tv will stay put. Screwfix even sell a kit >
