Hi

This is an old piece of furniture that's now gone quite "orange" and also is in need of some TLC.

1.
Looking for product recommendations to strip the current varnish.

2.
I want to stain it to this colour. Any suggestions?

3.
Lastly I'll need to varnish to protect it. Again, suggestions please.

Thanks

You could experiment with simply rubbing it down and giving it a coat of a tinted varnish.
I've seen that done well, I've seen it done badly.

Stripping it, may depend what the finish is.
You might find a sharp scraper is effective, with or without a hot air gun.

Paintstripper is generally not what it was, and it was always over-rated for wood work anyway.

That looks like a decent 'mid-century' oak bookcase. Getting into the corners so you can make it all look like new would be very difficult; frankly I'd leave it and admire the patina...

Isn't there a stripper product I could use to take off the current finish?
