I've got one of those anti snap Euro cylinder lock things.

A couple of days ago, it appeared to have moved about 2mm, so there's more of it poking out on the inside face. It's also a bit stiffer to turn the key.

Is there a fine adjustment or something? I don't even know how to remove it. The escutcheon doesn't appear to have any visible fixings.

Correction: The escutcheon does have visible fixings.

The screw holding it will be on the door edge. Check it is secure and not worked loose.

Screw was tight. Loosening it without removing it fully doesn't allow any movement in the cylinder.

Have you tried the key in it? I reckon the wife has changed the locks and is waiting for you to go out. smile

More seriously, once the screw is removed you can slide them out easily to check for damage.

It doesn't appear to be damaged, the key works jn both sides, but is a bit stiff. If that screw locates into a hole in the cylinder, I don't see how it can have moved.

I'll take it to bits later. Probably tomorrow, so I can call a locksmith when I can't get it back together again. smile

Does it work any easier if you operate the lock when the door is open? Put some pictures up if you can.

No, it doesn't. The lock sits proud of the escutchoen on the inside, by about 1 or 2mm, and below the escutcheon on the outside by the same amount. It's as if it's moved but, as it's secured by a screw, I can't see how it has. Unless the screw has broken...

Have you tried partially turning the key when the screw is loosened. I seem to remember having to do this to move the cylinder.

If they have they managed to do it without triggering the video doorbell.

Just whip the barrel out and have a look at it or replace it. It’s a 30 second job.

I haven't tried to remove it. I wanted to know if it had some adjustment that would account for its recent movement.

Take the handle off, there might have been an anti bump plate fitted, that has come loose and is affecting it.

Update:

Removed cylinder, no sign of damage or tampering.

Reinstalled it. It's back to normal now.
