I need to remove and re-fit a shower screen that is held in place and adhered with CT1 - what's the best way? The bottom of the screen is sat a couple of mm above the tiles, sat on a bed of CT1. The side is sat in a u-channel and I know that there is a bead of CT1 between the screen and the edge of the channel but I don't know yet if there is any right on the edge of the screen.

I cannot break anything so looking for advice before I get stuck in.

CT1 make a silicone remover that may help, used it before and it does work well.

Multitool. You will scratch the tile face though . It’s the best method I’ve tried

One of the Stanley type knives with the long snap off blades - There's two sizes you want the larger one

Something like fishing twine used to slice through the bead, like the way that they slice the glue when removing car badges before painting?

I had to do this a few months ago, people have suggested what was my approach.

Can of silicon solvent, long stanley knife with snap off blades and I ended up using lockwire rather than fishing line to cut through the silicon, needless to say it look several evenings of applying the solvent, cutting etc to get the strip off the tiles. I managed not to damage any tiles or grout which was the main aim.

I've removed loads of stuff this way, all you need is the knife

I've never used any of the removers they are far too slow

I think a mix of the solvent, cutting wire and/or long blade should sort the bottom, but what about getting it out of the u-channel? This is screwed onto the wall and there will be some CT1 holding it in, as well as the bead that is sealing the glass and the edge of the channel

It says not to bond in the U channel but if they have, a blade down both sides will free it

If they filled the back edge then it's down to force and a prayer biggrin
