Tried a few new chairs at the weekend - ended up liking a Human Scale Liberty (I thought the Herman Miller options were about as comfortable as a stabbing) - but they only had a display model that wasn't for discount, so got home and some mild googling throws up a load of refurbed options - better than half price and upholstered in pretty much any colour you want

Does anyone have any experience of refurbed office chair companies (Corporate Spec seem to be the biggest)

Our office swaps all of the chairs every couple of years and they still seem in decent shape, so assume its a thing, but mild apprehension at buying "refurb" unseen from a random website...

When I bought, the main issue was delivery. Hardly any outlets would deliver to Scotland (I’m in Aberdeen too) and they also wouldn’t allow me to organise a courier to pickup.

I found one place that would, and bought two HS chairs. I arranged Parcelforce to pick-up and a deliver them to me for £110.

But won’t recommend as there was a 2 month saga with delivery that turns out to be the shops fault and not Parcelforce’s! But the chairs were in showroom condition, better than expected.

I think there are a decent amount of providers, just delivery may be an issue. If you find one let me know as I’d like to buy a couple more. With HS at least you can get spares easily if any parts are broken.

I used https://barkhamofficefurniture.co.uk for a personal purchase during Covid and was happy with the quality of the chair I received which was around a quarter of full retail for a Humanscale Freedom with headrest. The cloth had all been replaced and to me looked like factory fit. A few minor scuffs on some of the surrounding plastics, but nothing majorly untoward.

Edit: Mine was delivered to me and was well packaged, but I can't recall exactly how it arrived, I think it was on a pallet.
