Hi all,

Our new kitchen is arriving shortly and I'd like to add some accent lights:

1 - In a large kitchen larder corner unit - with motion sensor when door is opened
2 - Under wall cupboards to provide ambient light in evening
3 - Under breakfast bar/peninsula to provide ambient light in evening

Is this best achieved with Phillips Hue? Looking into it online but getting confused. It looks like I'd need Lightstrips for each of the above 3 + a motion sensor for the cupboard. Then I need a Hue Bridge to control the motion sensor? Can the Bridge also control the under cupboard/peninsula lights and set them on a timer (sunset until midnight etc.)?

Any other suggestions for alternatives?

I've always been impressed with Tapo lighting. I have many light bulbs and an LED strip. They all work fine, no hub, and directly accessible via Alexa.

I don't have any other Tapo devices yet, but cameras and a couple of Smart TRVs are on my radar.

I have some hue lights, but more recently I've been using Govee lights.

The Govee ones are much cheaper but offer all the same functions and depending on the model alexa integration as well.

You can buy from amazon or direct.
