Any Cactus experts in ?

My wife’s aunt gave us this, it’s been in her house for 20 to 30 years but she wanted rid.

We don’t really want it but seems wrong to just chuck it in the green bin as someone may want it ?

It’s not the most attractive thing but it seems to be growing nicely with a bit of care and feeding by my wife.

Any ideas as to what it is and what to do with it ?

Looks like a Euphorbia.
