The top part of our tap flew off the unit which is attached to the sink - it's either this one or pretty similar to this one:

There doesn't seem to be any screw attachment or anything, so is this just push fit? There are a few clunks when the O-rings go into the base unit, and then one final kachunk when it's pushed all the way. If that's how it's supposed to fit, how come it's started coming off? Is it worth trying to renew the O-rings, if I can get some the same size?

No change in water pressure recently, although the tap is about ten years old now.

It looks a similar concept to my Abode tap. Have a look round the back of the part still attached to the sink - is there a grubscrew?

Ah there is, never saw that before. If the screw is missing hopefully I can work out the size and length of it and get another one.

Unlikely to have fallen out, probably still there but needs screwing in a bit. Mine is quite inset.

Yep managed to tighten it enough that it won’t come out now, still a bit of movement though. Will keep an eye on it, I’m not 100% sure what shape slot the screw has so might not have been using the ideal screwdriver, it seemed tiny.

Ah it’s an Allen key, that’s why the screwdrivers didn’t really work!
