Mistimed my delivery FFS. banghead

The local forecourt kero places aren't open on Sundays so anyone got any idea where might stock it that's open? Presumably in 20l cans or similar. I'm in Dorset.

Rural filling stations worth a shout?

Our local one here in Aberdeenshire has it in 20 litre drums. Alternatively, speak nicely to neighbours and go round with some cash, bottle of wine, a length of clear hose and a few drums?

Good call, but no. Caravans use gas, boats use diesel, sheds don't seem to. Might try the garden centre but don't hold much hope.

Brill, thanks, didn't think of the local filling stations.

Neighbours are back up but the ones I can think of are calor or heating pumps. frown

How rural? Worth speaking to a friendly local farmer?

Anywhere local that uses portacabins or similar for site offices?

Place we have a load of stuff in storage at uses diesel cab heaters running on kerosene for their office and living spaces and they’ll sell it on as well.

No luck unfortunately so I've given up, it's not too bad with an oil filled rad and a wood burner plus immersion heater. Hopefully I can bring the delivery forward when I call tomorrow.

You will likely be able to buy jet kerosene at an airfield.

Our rural local petrol station has every fuel short of depleted uranium.

Depleted uranium isn’t a fuel…

That's a good suggestion but worth checking that there is actually clean oil to the bottom of tank. My parents steel tank had a thick layer of water and sludge on the bottom that I'm not sure a boiler would have enjoyed.

That’s true , but when the tank gets filled everything gets churned up .

It might do but rust and water settle out on the bottom pretty quickly - when I changed their tank they'd used the oil down to the outlet level as normal and there's no way I'd have wanted to try and burn what was left.

Whack some diesel in if you're stuck, the boiler won't care
