I can take some more photos and measure up tomorrow, but wondering if the space here is too tight for a retractable awning (electronic ideally) above the Bifolds

Looks too tight to fit one and even if one went in wouldn’t it foul on the bifold when being rolled out.

What about mounting one on custom fitted brackets on the facia behind gutter or remove tiles to access rafter feet , fit and then make tiles sound. Something like a large camper van awning. Omnistor I think is a make.

Hmmmm yes the Bifolds don’t give it much room to come out.
I think I need to asses further tomorrow.
There is space you can’t see underneath the white plastic so it could “tuck” a bit under there, but the doors could prove problematic

I guess perhaps it doesn’t actually need to be the full width of the opening though, not sure how odd that might look?

Hmmmmm, they’d certainly do the job but don’t look great do they.

Your choice’s are limited I would say. Free standing sun canopy on wheels?

I do have a parasol/umbrella type thing over the BBQ which could be moved if it was essential, but this is probably more just an aesthetic "nice to have" thing rather than an essential, so if an awning won't fit I can probably live without it

Attachment would be my worry - as above tying it into the roof structure would be much safer than bolting it to the top course of bricks.

No room IMO, not without it looking weird. I concur with something moveable / big tent etc.

Yep, I agree, not a hope of fitting an electric awning above those doors.

You need to remember that the awnings are sloped, when extended, so you need more height that you think, as the awning when out would need to be sufficiently high to be able to open the doors underneath it when out at max extension, which puts the awning enclosure much higher above the top of the door frame than you think.

Yeah thanks guys, you're right, it's probably a no go.

I'll see how the summer sunshine affects the projector then assess if I need to come up with another solution for it.
